Beginners question for VI
Hello I am trying to follow the begInners tutorial "How to use VI MIDI" It says "All the next steps are based on this Midi-file: Midi tempo 120 Velocity 64 . Please load it down and import it into your sequencer. " But it does not explain where to download it from ? It doe say "The sound examples I took over from the corresponding VSL-Midi tutorial. So they are not played by the Vienna Instrument." But how does that relate to the file used in the tutorial ?

Hi and welcome Gone To Lunch (hope you enjoyed your meal! ;) ),
You're referring to the Beat-Kaufman tutorial at http://www.beat-kaufmann.com/vitutorials/vimidi/index.php#53248298010c27208
You'll notice that in the line "All the next steps are based on this Midi-file:", "Midi-file" is actually a link you can click to download the file in question. In case there are some problems preventing you to interact with the link, the midi-file is located at:
http://www.beat-kaufmann.com/downloads/vslmidi120.mid
Good luck with your new instrument.

Hello Gone to Lunch
I've sent you an answer by mail... Maybe you didn't got it.
So you will find it here again:
Hello Michael
If you click on the "Midi-file" you will be able to download it:
All the next steps are based on this Midi-file: Midi tempo 120 Velocity 64 .
hand here is the same link (behind "Midi-file") once more: http://www.beat-kaufmann.com/downloads/vslmidi120.mid
I wrote this short tutorial for the very first samples of VSL. Everybody had its own Sample Player at that time.
http://www.beat-kaufmann.com/vitutorials/vslmidi/index.php
Later I adapted the tutorial for the Vienna Instrument - the current player of VSL-Samples.
I didn't record the audio files once more because they would sound equal.
But I see this information can confuse the reader of the tutorial...
I'm sure:
If you follow the steps you will get the same sound assuming you have all the necessary samples/articulations.
I wish you a lot of success
Kind Regards
Beat Kaufmann

And thank you Beat for all your excellent tutorials!
They've helped me to understand the usefulness of articulations I initially found confusing, which in turn has helped out my arrangement a lot. :)
