    I'm setting up a template in VE-Pro and I am unable to save the Perform Control and Map Control data.  I've saved each matrix and the perform and map control settings are not saved along with it.  Nor are the setttings saved with the VE-Pro project.  Consequently, I must go and set each one up manually every time I load a new project.

    How can I save the Perform Control and Map Control data?

    Hello synergy543,

    these settings are only saved with the presets. If you need specific settings, it´s clever to store a default preset that contains no samples, only your settings. This way you can start every new preset with the same settings.

    Thanks Paul, I'll give this a try.  

    Your tip for storing a default preset sounds interesting when I want them all the same.  However, what if I need different map settings for two different instruments?  I suppose I could make different sets of default presets that contain no samples and load these as needed.  However, is this the best method?

    Hi Paul,

    Are you planning to include copy/paste for these parameters in an update in the near future? Would really help with updating my entire template to work in a better way. I'm sure many people would really appreciate this missing feature.

    Hello Tom,

    this is not planned, to be honest. It would add another "format" to the (for many) already confusing *.viframe, *.metaframe and *.fxp Files.

    But let´s see if we can come up with a solution. I will talk this through with our developers.

    Hi Paul,

    I'm glad some kind of solution is being considered. Being able to save Performance Data would be the ideal way. Then you could implement a command in VEPro to apply a Performance Data Set to all selected VIs in a particular instance.

    Simple copy and paste of Performance parameters would help too, but it's not quite as helpful. Since there are no menus in the VI interface it could perhaps be two buttons [copy] [paste] to the left of the [perform control] [map control] buttons? That way it would make sense what the buttons are for.

    I agree that things get complicated with too many file formats. I think the key is making the nomenclature intuitive. Reading the manual to understand functions is more and more difficult the more unknown terms are used at the same time (you have to learn a new language before you can make sense of the sentences). If the terms are almost "self-explanitory" it reduces the learning curve a great deal.
