    Hello

    Why oh why does the license scanning take so long to the point that this happens in Logic Pro 9.1.1.

    Are there any solutions, or does one have to load in VSL fresh each time......kind of seems odd to have to do that.

    This issue has presented itself quite often on the forum in recent times and it seems to be particularly frustrating for Mac users.  For whatever reason, VSL just takes longer to authenticate on a Mac and, apparently, Windows 7.  In previous discussions, if my memory serves me right, I believe the only solution/workaround is to use Vienna Ensemble filled with Vienna Instrument sessions rather than using Vienna Instruments.  When you load Vienna Ensemble, you only have to go through the authentication process once/16 instances of VI instead of once/single instance of VI.  I think that's right.

    I know this may not be what you want to hear but I believe that was the consensus in previous discussions of this matter.  Try doing a search on it.

    Hello Jasen

     Though I have been aware of the Mac scan thing for some time the length of the scan/freeze with my set up led me search out further. It seems that my situation is related to a dying USB Dongle.
