  • Play and VEPro

OK, does anyone have Play working inside of VE Pro on a Mac? Someone on the Cubase forum (a "Senior Member" no less) told me it does. My instance of VE Pro does not see Play, because I thought VE Pro only sees AU's?....is this correct? Would love to resolve this.

Thanks! VEP Pro 7 2023 M2 Ultra Mac Pro, 192GB ram, 4TB SSD 2013 MacPro RME UFX +, Earthworks mics, Neuman mics, Earthworks Preamp,
  • I don't believe it's working with publicly released versions, but development is still going on.  Keep an eye out for updates.

  • VE Pro sees my *AU Play* but can't load the GUI. "serious error has occurred with AU view"

  •  As Mike said, it is being worked on.  It has been a lengthy process for a variety of reasons involving both companies.  Indications are that the two companies have been cooperating with each other on this issue.  It should be noted that resolving the issues have proven to be quite difficult and involved.  Certainly, it is being worked on, and possibly a resolution will be forthcoming soon - but it is not here just yet.

  • Thanks everyone for you replies....I guess most use Bidule like me, but hopefully things will work more efficiently when Play and VE Pro work with each other.

  • Your situation sounds similar to what I've experienced recently, although I'm not running Ve Pro on OSX....

I'm in the process of moving all my VIs out of Bidule on OSX to VePro on PC, windows 7, and have had an error with Play similar to what you describe.  I was getting errors from Play saying 'That product does not exist'  (... nice, eh...!!! ) - basically the GUI was not loading, like you describe.  What I discovered was that I had not connected the VePro plugin in Protools with the VePro server on the PC when I got that message.  Once I connected with VePro server and THEN instantiated Play, all was good.   Maybe this is what is happening in your case...

    Best,

    Greg
