  • The Tuba Express (Demo for bass tuba)

Here is a demo for bass tuba and string ensemble. This is a dedicated demo for bass tuba from the VSL downloads.

  • Fantastic Guy - thank you so much for making the tuba sing and avoiding the usual cliches. The performance is top notch. Turn this into a concerto or suite and you have got a sure fire success amongst the fraternity. Pro soloists are crying out for good concert works. There were one or two minor points which didn't work so well but I appreciate you are trying to exploit as many patches as possible. If you wanted to develop this into a publishable work I'd be happy to let you have my penny's worth.

  • I agree that sounds great and should be developed into a sonata or concerto.  A lot of Guy's stuff needs to be presented in as fully developed a way as possible as he is a fine composer.   That is a good tip Dave mentioned about getting something played by writing for specific, not-so-usual soloist.

  • It's great. It reminds me of Hancocks Half Hour or Hobson's Choice. Very 50's.

  • Thanks a lot guys! Having learnt more about the tuba now, I can appreciate this instrument much more and will likely open new doors in my orchestration palette.

Dave I'll pm you, sounds interesting.
