  • Sibelius 6.2 + VEPro Crashes

    Hi,

I've migrated to a new computer, a iMac i7 running Snow Leopard. I'm trying to rebuild my working environment and the only thing stopping me getting back to work is that every time I open Playback devices, click 'show' for VEPRO with a view to connecting, Sibelius comes crashing down.... HELP!

    Thanks, J

  • Hello Jürgen!

    Sorry for the problems.
Did you start VE Pro Server on the machine(s) where you want to load the samples before starting Sibelius?
Do you have the same version of VE Pro installed on all involved computers? This would be necessary.

If this doesn't help, please give me some more details about your setup and on what exactly happens, when Sibelius crashes.

    Best,
    Andi

  • Hi Andi,

Yes same version of VEPro (v4.0 5436) and VEPro starts first. I seem to have found a way forward. By gradually building up the 32bit and 64 bit instances rather than opening the metaproject i was using I was able to whittle down the issue to Kontakt 64bit which somehow was not being viewed favorably when chosen as the first entry in the server list. Once metaframes with VSL products were being used in the first instance the systems seemed happy. The only change was from 10.5 to 10.6 and moving from a Core2Duo macbookpro to an i7 imac. Upon rebooting the server (also an i7 running xp64) the server windows were unusually large. No idea what was going on but I'll start composing again with it today and report back if there are any further stability issues.

    Thanks!
