Sibelius arcs and VSL SE STrings Legato

Hi, Does it make sense to add legato arcs/slurs in Sibelius, or is it better to let VSL decide how to play the legato (use of the legato patch)? Please advise. Best regards,

Hello Uncle D!

As you are a Special Edition User, I recommend using the Special Edition Sound Set and Vienna Ensemble. This way the legato patches automatically get triggered, when you write a slur.

If you haven't done so yet, I recommend reading the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual. You can find it at the following location:

Thanks but I am routing communication from Sibelius to Logic via the IAC bus. I have made keyswitch definitions in Sibelius to control VSL, works fine. So I repeat my question.

Sorry, but I don't fully understand what you are trying to do (and why). Can you please explain it in more detail.

I would make my arrangement with VE loaded in Sibelius. When that is finished you can either export a MIDI file for further finetuning in Logic or export audio files for mixing in Logic.
