Hello Paul,
I did not have the latest versions on both computers. In fact, I didn't even think I needed VEPRO installed on the XP PC Sonar side. But, I had installed it anyway. I also discovered that the Ve Pro on the Vista machine had been licensed but there was no other license for Ve Pro.
To clarify the data situation: All of my sampes are on drives located on the Vista 64 bit computer. (8 Gigs RAM). My sequencer is on the XP PC with 2 gigs. My intention was to run sonar on the XP and use Ve Pro as a VSTi to load my VSL samples into the sonar projects.
However, in an effort to also test notion3 software with Special Edition, I licensed the SE instruments associated with the XP even though the samples were physically located on the Vista by way lan mapped drives. (that worked fine, by the way except that I had to swap the dongle into the XP computer.)
This brings me to my questions: (1) I have downloaded the latest version of VE PRO to the XP PC. Apparently I need to install it on the master PC? Also, I have registered the second copy on VSL site but I haven't licensed it as yet. Do I install it first and then license it? And (2) to which computer will it be associated on the key? I only have one key and since all of my samples are on one computer, I wouldn't be able to work a Sonar project using samples from multiple vendors if the licenses are split between both computers.
It's obvious that I'm confused with regard to the licensing situation. I would appreciate it if you could get me straight about that.
Thanks,
Jim Ferguson
