    My PC is running in slave mode and VE Pro works.  When I click on "Add New VSTi Channel" nothing happens.  The Plugin for Omnisphere is in the Steinberg VST Plugins folder which I added to VE Pro's Plugin directory.

    I can't figure out why this doesn't work.

    1. Does VE Pro even list Ominsphere?
    2. If not are you trying to load a 32bit plug into a 64bit server?

    My PC slave is running XP 64 bit.  Is that the problem?  If so does Omnisphere have a 64 bit version?

    It has nothing to do with the OS. it's a question of whether you are using the 32bit server or 64bit on the slave machine. I don't think that Omnisphere is 64bit, so try running the 32bit server to see if that makes a difference. Double check the VSTi path is correct as well while you're at it.

    Yes thank you that worked.  If I use the 32 bit mode is there any difference in performance?

    It should be exactly the same. The only difference is that you are limited to something under 4GB of memory for all your 32bit Instruments.

    Sorry to bring this old thread up!

    I'm running a x64bit XP system.

    So does that mean if I used VE Pro 32bit, I could open say, 4 instances of VE Pro 32bit and have up to around 4gb in each? To utilise my 16gb RAM?

    Hope that makes sense!

    Hi Ian,

    actually, XP64 is the only Windows system that is not officially supported - although it works, we will not actively support and develop for it in the future.

    Here´s how it works: If you use VE PRO 32 bit, you can access up to 2.8 GB of RAM all in all - all VE PRO instances connect to 1 VE PRO Server.

    If you use VE PRO 64 bit with Vienna Instruments, Vienna Imperial and other 64 bit plug-ins, you can load as much RAM as you have available [:)]

    And of course you can run 32- and 64 bit instances simultaneously.

    Thanks for your speedy reply Paul!

    What if I have a VST effect that I want to use on all instances of my VE Pro, but this VST will only show up as a usable effect in VE Pro 32bit. i.e. it's a 32 bit VST.

    Can I use 2.8GB of RAM in each instance of VE Pro 32 bit that I open? I.e. 2.8GB of strings in one, then another 2.8GB of brass in another, etc??

    This is starting to get complicated! :)

    Hey not to worry I'll have a play around - I'm sure I'll be able to wrok it out!

    I'm on a 64bit system so thought I'd be able to use as much available RAM as I could - even though I'm running the 32bit version of VE Pro.
