  • SOLVED VEpro: G-player and NI Kontakt 4 not playing

first of all, thank you for this great app Vienna Ensemble Pro!

until 2days ago Kontakt 4 was running inside  the server engine without problems.

the server runs on a 2.0 ghz macmini with 4 gb ram and OS 10.6.2

my vienna solo strings work fine , Ivory works well too inside the server.

Reading through some posts on this forum shows, that some users have issues with Kontakt, while for others it is working well.

    My G-player is behaving similar.

To solve this is somehow important, because i am running this setup now on tour, far away from the solutions i could imagine that i have in my home studio, where i could use Kontakt in standalone and trigger it via midi interface and have the audio send via its own audio interface.

I somehow counted on this ethernet connection and that it would keep running like in my initial tests before going on tour.

Are there some preference file i could erase to have Kontakt and VEpro just behave like it did after installation ?

  • one important issue i should emphasize is that

this not playing problem is only in VEpro Server. the VEpro standalone works concerning

    Kontakt 4 as a plugin.

  • it works again. i do not know why.

i started to use kontakt 4 in standalone parallel to vePro server, sending MIDI via ethernet and sending stereo out from my small edirol fa66 to the h8000fw  , which is connected via FW to the sequencer computer.

at the same time i replaced my sequencer computer with a faster machine, a macbook 2ghz core2 duo 2007.

that was working fine and i tried to use again kontakt 4 as plugin inside the server, and it worked.

how i imagine is, that vePro server suppressed the Kontakt 4 and Gplayer plugin to run, because the master computer was too slow.

tell me i am wrong, because this sounds too weird
