  • Remote desktop?

A few question regading remote desktop... I cant try it at the moment but i need to know.

    1) Does it work well with VE Pro?

    2) What do you prefer, Remote desktop or KVM switch? I find my switch not to be very practical right now. I take it you can switch from 1 pc to an other with 1 mouse click  with remote desktop? If so, i would prefer this.

    3) I suppose Win7 and XP Pro are compatible right?

    4) Audio performance wise,  does it make any difference if you use Remore desktop or a switch?

  • I love remote desktop and I use it with VE PRO. Major perk is that I get to have my slave computer in my Bedroom to keep me warm at night, and the master computer in the studio so it stays nice and cool! The only advantage to KVM is that the screen redraws are a tiny bit faster, but its hardly noticeable. Remote desktop lets you keep an eye on multiple CPUs at the same time. The computer that gets connected to needs to be Windows 7 Professional or Vista Business or better. Home Premiums can view a Pro or business, but you can't view a home premium.

That's interesting... And a litle confusing. Does that mean i could view home premium from win XP Pro? That would save me a couple of 100 $ if that were the case.

    Thanks much.

  • your DAW computer needs to be at least home premium and your slave needs to be at least business or pro. when you connect to the slave, the slave's screen will become inactive and you will only be able to view the slave screen on the DAW computer.

    OK, that's clearer now.

    Thanks.
