  • VE Pro Build 4536

    Hi Vienna Team,

I've noticed with the new release that the channel strips in VE Pro highlight and the Instrument name turns white to show the active channel (when selected).  I believe the earlier release just had a white line at the bottom.  Is this an intentional change?  Personally, I preferred just the white line as in the first release so that the color of the instrument name box is retained.  Please advise....

  • Hi,

    this is an intentional change.

  • Thanks for the clarification Paul

  • If more people think the same, I'll change it back (figured it would be more consistent with channel strip selection).

  • Actually Karel, the strip being highlighted doesn't bother me -- just wished there was a way to click on another part of the interface to release the focus so that the colors come back if you understand what I'm saying.  Also I've noticed with the new release that SampleTank now does not display it's interface correctly.  It starts to but then blanks to a all white box.  For what it's worth......  Thanks.

  • When exactly does the SampleTank interface go white?

  • When you first select the channel strip you see it painted for about a second then goes white.  If you select another channel strip with for example VI everything is ok.  Then go back to the Sample Tank strip, you see it for a second then goes blank.  I have been able to click around the white box and have it re-appear.  Then when you go back to the sequencer it changes back to white.  I have 3 screens so that VE PRO is visible at all times.  It's like once the focus is lost, it goes white.

  • I hope it's ok to hijack this thread [:)]

@ Karel: is it possible that there's a memory leak in the update? After updating to 4.0.4536 VE Pro crashes every time when editing a bidule instance (v. 0.9693). Then the memory of VE Pro rises rapidly (observing in taskmanger) until VE Pro crashes completely.

Reinstalling VE Pro 4.0.4416 I don't have this problem any more, then bidule works fine in VE Pro.

  • I hav ethis problem as well.  I had a VE PRO 32 bit server running Sampletank in Logic 9 which I setup with the original release.  Now with the current release when I open my sequence the Sampletank GUI is completely white now.

    Karel,

If you look at the Cubase Mixer for example, the channel strip is highlighted when focused but the colors at the bottom where the track name is displayed remains constant.  Maybe this approach in VE PRO will satisfy all.
