  • basic VE Pro question

The product description page says this:

"Use it as a host on the same computer as your sequencer to integrate all your 64-bit and 32-bit instruments..."

Does this mean you can use it as a plugin in your sequencer, or do you run it as a standalone and connect to the squencer some other way?  I know that some virtual instrument apps can run as standalone and connect to (in my case) Logic, but I've never done any of that and don't really know how it's done.  Thanks.

  • It's capable of both.  Either way you do it, you can do most if not all your panning and mixing from the actual VE Pro console.  I find once I get the mix right in VE Pro I usually have nothing to do in logic other then add effects plugs (because I use Logics built in plugs and you can't add those to VE Pro channel inserts).

  • Awesome, thanks.  And if you run it as a plugin in Logic, is it still 64 bit despite Logic's own 32-bit limitation?

  • As long as you're running Leopard or Snow Leopard, yes.

  • Cool, thanks again.  I just got the Special Edition library and am having some problems that may be because of a 32-bit RAM limitation issue, so VE Pro seems to be the way to go.
