  • VE Pro and Sibelius

When using Sibelius and VE2, with VE2 as a Playback Device in the Sibelius session, with just one click on the Sibelius session, the session would open, VE2 would launch, and the session samples would load up.

Now, with VE Pro, it seems I have to:

    1. Launch the VE Pro server.

    2. Open the Sibelius file.

    3. Load the samples into VE Pro with the "Load plugin data" button.

How is this better?  Is this how VE3 worked, before VE Pro?  (I don't know, as I was just using VE2.)  Perhaps there is a good reason for all this, but I am wondering why it now takes more steps and more time to do the same thing.  I hope I'm missing something.  Is it possible to save all the session data in the Sibelius file using VE Pro, and open everything with just one click, as it was using VE2?

  • I'm pretty sure that if you don't use the preserve function you won't have to bother with step 3.

  • I'm not sure what you mean.  I'm trying to launch a Sibelius session and the corresponding VE Pro session at the same time, as you can with Sibelius and VE2.  I don't understand how the preserve function affects this one way or the other.

With the next release this has been patched, so you will not need to perform step 3. We will keep the rest, however.
