  • VEpro Audio Unit can't be loaded anymore

    Hi everybody,

My Setup:  2x3 Ghz Quad Core IntelXeon, 16 GB Ram, 10.5.8 Logic 9.01 Logic 8.02

I suddenly get this line, when I try to open VEpro as AU:

Audio Unit Vienna Ensemble couldn't be loaded. Please contact the vendor.

It worked proper the whole day, everything superb,, then I had a crash and then it was completely gone. I uninstalled and reinstalled, I downloaded again and reinstalled again, I wrote a mail to support, I tried in L8 and L9, nothing.

    It works as standalone !

And it works on my MPB.

    Anybody an idea ?

    regards,

    kosi

  • I had the same problem over here, it started when I tried to load the plug with an instance of Kontakt on the server. DP crashed and now I can't get VE PRO to pass the AU examination.

  • As mentioned in a similar thread, for few of us who had similar problems; the only cure was -

    unistall. repair permissions. install again.

    good luck

  • I've tried that a few times, no luck.

  • Thanks Pivot, this helped indeed,

I uninstalled, threw away all VSL prefs that I could find, in the Main and User Library, repaired the rights twice, and reinstalled VEpro. At the first time time, no luck, then I started the standalone again to see, wether some sounds come at all and then, at the nex´t attempt, the plugin loaded again :P

Very strange, I really don't like behaviours like this.

I think, I get me an i7 and bring the whole thing away from my Mac...

  • This same scenario has happened to a couple of users I know and the fellows here. And now it has happened to me. Once the AU crashes, all the above steps are needed to bring it back, only in my case, it crashes again after reinstalling. I had 4 days of flawless performance and then this. Hopefully the Vienna team has a step-by-step procedure for getting this reinstalled properly. Are there some hidden files we need to uninstall?

  • I was able to fix AU validation in Logic in the past by manually revalidating in Logic's AU Manager (it's under Preferences). Other hosts would work, just Logic needed a revalidation. Perhaps this could help as well?

  • The 32 channel limitation with the AU plugin has been fixed for the next update. Stay tuned ;)
