  • Special Edition - DVD vs Download

I'm interested in buying the Special Edition (no extended library yet, just the standard).  In looking at the product pages, I see some inconsistency between the download and DVD prices.  The downloads seem to only appear in Euros, are these not available in the US?  Also, the prices of the 4 instrument families in the download section add up to 460 Euros (roughly 660 USD), whereas the price of the DVD collection in USD is $465.  What accounts for this discrepancy?  They include all the same sounds, right?  Is it just a discount for buying them all at once?  Is there a way I can get the 4 download packages for the same price as the DVD set if I buy them all together?

    Thanks.

  • I read in another thread that the price difference is based on the downloadable versions including multiple licenceses, so I guess my question is answered.

i would recommend that VSL consider offering the downloadable versions in a similar package to the DVDs, including only 1 license and for the same price, if possible.  I personally prefer having less stuff lying around, so would rather buy the downloadable version, but have no use for multiple licenses.  Not to mention the increasing trend toward download-only materials for the sake of the environment.

    Thanks.

  • the orchestra SE section downloads are aimed at users who actually don't want the whole special edition.

every section has its own license, but non of them is multiple (1 product = 1 license)
