Ensemble is gettin' weird in Sibelius
Hi there I'm having a strange problem: I'm working on a project for orchestra and therefore I've two devices of VE running in Sibelius 5.2. I recently noticed that both Violin 1 and 2 are played on the same instrument on VE, although I've assigned a different Midi Port and Instrument for the two violines. If I'm looking at the mixer in Sibelius, the two instruments are separeted correctly. The channels in VE are also not the same which to me seems right. Any ideas? Another weird thing is the clarinet: If I add a staccato dot on a note of one of my two clarinets, this note is played by the bassoon... I'm a little stuck right now... Thanks for any help! best balz

Hi balz!
First of all let me point out, that there is a pdf-manual available in the User Area, where you can get lots of useful hints, how to optimize your Sibelius playback with Vienna Ensemble.
You can find it here:
http://vsl.co.at/en/68/141/460/576/655.htmHere are some possible reasons for your problems (taken from the Troubleshooting section of aforementioned manual).
Solo strings don’t switch
You have to be careful to choose the right instrument in Sibelius. Use Solo Violin, Solo Viola, … for solo instruments and Violin 1, Violin 2, Violin I, Viola, … for ensemble strings. The program you select on the Manual Sound Set page has to match the instrument.I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Andi
