    Hi,

    I own SE Extended and at the bottom of the patch list there's something called R99 with mixed instrument patches. However, I can't get any sound from them. 

    Could anyone enlighten me, please? :)

    Those are release samples. They don't do anything on their own but the Vienna Instruments are programmed to use them with patches, matrices and presets. You don't have to worry about them, it's all handled "under the bonnet" by the software.
