  • why no user demos of MIR?

I'm a bit surprised, given the amount of anticipation and curiosity, that no one has posted some simple and short mp3 user demos of MIR??  It seems that it would be very easy to give a sense of the space and sound by doing some really short excerpts until the more substantial and official VSL demos are posted.

Anyone?  Have you signed Non-Disclosure-Agreements with the use of the demo/beta?

    O

  •  exactly what i'm looking for ! why no user demo ?
anyway, i'll buy it before the end of august but.. [:)]

  • Our Beta-testers are of course free to talk about their impressions and post our music.

But the best way to "demo" MIR is to download it and try it on your own arrangements.

Dietz, I totally agree. However, in my case that means buying £4000 of hardware, so I'm not too keen to spend that amount of money without hearing something first. [;)]

I agree wholeheartedly, it would seem almost suspicious to any newcomer that there are no audio demos to be heard anywhere.
However, I have demoed the product and decided it isn't the kind of software for me and I will stick with Vienna Suite for now.
(I also have limited monetary resources, so I'm saving for the eventual VSL SATB choirs anyway.)

  • Exactly! Perhaps I should have brought up these points in my initial post to save some time, but I thought it is pretty obvious that given the uniquely high system requirements of MIR, the demo is not useful for many.  However, simply hearing some excerpts can at lease nudge many of us in the direction of either 1) This is not for me, or 2) Wow, now this sounds really good, I'd like to start budgeting for it and the hardware that would be required if I go this route.

In any case, I'm just surprised that NONE of the beta testers have posted a single little clip.  Obviously, with time both users and VSL will have demos up.

Looking forward (hint hint to all the testers out there...don't be greedy!!!) [6]

  • Agreed. I don't currently have a system that meets the specs, and I'm not about to spend the money to get one without knowing ahead of time that I want to invest in MIR.

More demo's would a good idea. I need to hear more, with variations in dry/wet mix etc. Right now, I'm not completely convinced by the two demos.
