Adding reverb from within Sibelius 5
I am using VE with Sibelius 5.2.5 on a Mac Pro. From within Sibelius I can add reverb using AUMatrixReverb, but I am interested in trying some higher end reverbs such as Altiverb and perhaps MIR when Vi releases it. Can Altiverb show up as a plugin in either Sibelius or Vienna Ensemble, or would I need to apply Altiverb as post-processing using some DAW?

High Randall!
You can load Altiverb with your Vienna Ensemble. It's no problem to load VE with Altiverb inside with Sibelius.
If it works directly from within Sibelius (without VE) I don't know. As I don't have a copy of Altiverb, I can't try it out. Maybe somebody else here or the Sibelius guys themeselves know.Best,
Andi

yes you can add altiverb (or any VST reverb) via the playback devices effects tab which ever sample vst your using

Dave (or any one else)
When you add the effect to the VST how do you stop sibelius still playing direct sound as well??
I have realised that even when I send 100% to the FX bus and then mute all parts of Altiverb (direct, early ref, tail) that I am still left with sound direct...... I guess this means I actually usually have two direct sounds which may explain the sometimes "phasiness"
Altiverb reckon you should use totally wet to get correct depth and it seems at the moment that I can't get sib to do this
(PS can't use direct it in VE as I'm running this all on XP64)
Cheers for any ideas and apologies VSL if this is less VSL and more altiverb/sib!
Steve
