    Is it possible to install the sound packs to a computer's main hard drive and still play them back? Could a small external hard drive help somehow? Thanks all, josh

    basically yes, though not recommended (operating system and programs will throw some activity to this drive too)

    at least defragment the drive before installing a library - remember to leave ~20 - 25% free space on it.

     

    external drives help as far as they don't collide with other devices (eg. firewire audio and firewire harddisk on the same bus especially on a mac) - if your internal drive is 5400 rpm only consider an external one.
