Jacques: Your piece "The Labyrinth" is the greatest demo of the Special Edition available, in fact when i heard it last year i was inmediately convinced to buy the SE. Great work.
P.S: I have listened to your demos for the Broadway Big Band too, you have both great arranging/composing skills as well as excellent programming chops. Well done buddy.
Wow, the new piece is great! congratulations. Can you tell us about your working "method", which reverb you used, eq, etc?. Congrats again.
Great job! Very nice.
Thanks Guy! Love your work, BTW! [;)]

Thanks Mallon! I couldn't resist. I always wanted to have a composition with Lost World in it! [:D]

Hey felliniflex!
Thanks for the nice words! I am happy to know you decided to buy when you listened to it, last year!
These are my first attempts by only using VSL, glad you like!
Cheers!

Like i said before. These are my initial attempts with VSL. I love using VSL, and the possibility of thinking more in the way i use to think when i am dealing with real players. I was about to compose some other demos last year, but got some personal issues that avoided me. Now, i am back. More to come...[:)]
To be honest, in The Labyrinth, i didn't use any convolution reverb. It was only Easy Verb from PSPaudioware. I have built Early reflections by using its "ambience" algorithm , and applied tail reverb with the "Hall" algorithm. Just that. All the EQ process was handled by PSP plugins, again.
"Adventures in the Lost World" was different. I have used REVerence, since i had just got Cubase 5 when mixing it. I didn't try composing anything very different, just wanted it to be cool.
Really happy you like!
LazyPeon,
Thanks for posting!
I didn't try anything pretty complex with this piece. Instead it is built upon some "Hollywood" usual cliches, well at least it is what i've tried.
However, there are some passages ( the repeated notes as an example ), that would sound a lot better if i had more articulations.
If you create a serie of staccato notes - in cresc - the staccato patches will give you enough. But if your attempt is "repetead notes at the same velocity/intensity", two versions of the staccato per velocity isn't enough. But, by using Sfz and Stacatto samples - woodwinds - you can add variation. With strings it is a bit more easier, since you have more articulation to chose from, when repeating the same note, quickly.
Anyway, i am happy you guys think it is good for Special Edition [;)]
Thanks.
