Hi

I have 2 questions

1) Can you use Vienna Ensemble 3 with Finale 2009? Or can you only use VE2?

2) Can some one please get me started in setting up playback in finale to use Vienna patch switching, either through key switching or mod wheel channel 1? How can you get articulation markings to trigger changes in the vienna instrument matrix?

I know there is a playback file for finale for special edition but I have the main DVD products, so I just need a little explaination how to get started and I should be ok from there!!!

Hello Simsy!

Your first question is easy to answer: Yes, you can use Vienna Ensemble 2 and Vienna Ensemble 3 with Finale 2009.

Your second question is a bit more difficult: I personally would create Human Playback Preferences according to the presets (or matrices) you use for a particular score. There you can set which keyswitches and control changes will get sent according to different articulations.

If you build these presets with a constant system, you can use the Human Playback Preferences you made for different instruments and with different scores.

Be aware, that this may take some time (depending on the complexity of your instrumentation).
