  • VI SE PLUS - How to make use of performance repetitions???

    Hey all,

I recently bought the PLUS (Standard and Extended) library, but am struggling to get to grips with it - in particular, the performance repetitions. What do I need to do to set up a performance repetition patch, for example, with the orchestral violins? And there are different types, like legato and spiccato...what do they do individually? Do I need to press any particular keyswitches on the keyboard? How do I get them to work? I have watched the Revised Repetitions tutorial video but just got confused :( it's not explained slowly and clearly from scratch.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thanks,

    Matt

  • Can't anyone help me here....?

Would it also be possible for the VSL team to upload Christian Kardeis's demo for the Vienna SE Plus library ('Hannibal's Elephants') as I feel that would really help..

  • Hello Matt,

all you need to do is to play a repeated note, best with your sustain pedal, to keep the gaps between to notes minimal. Take the staccato/spiccato repetitions for fast repetitions, the legato repetitions for slower ones. The trick is that the connection between the notes (like in the Legato Performances) is authentic - the repetition has been played and then it was dissected into the different parts.

In Christian Kardeis´ Demo he is using mostly Fast Repetitions - these are very easy to play, simply trigger a note and you will hear 9 repetitions - if you leave the key earlier, you will be provided with a Release Sample.

I´d say, give it a shot!

    Best.
