  • Problems with Reinstall of Cube

My external drive with my VSL samples fied, so I am faced with the enjoyable task of re-installing the library from the DVDs [:S]  Yes, I should have maintained a hard drive copy...

Anyway, once I point the library installer to my new external drive, it happily installs the Solo Violin content from the first of 4 disks in that collection.  At the end of Disk 1, I am prompted to insert disk 2 and copy content to the Applications/Vienna Instruments folder on the internal drive.  Does this mean I must install all of the content to the internal drive and then copy it to the external drive?  I hope not, because my internal drive does not have sufficient room.  Any suggestions?

    Hi aplanchard,

that´s though.... are you sure that you are using the latest VSL Software? This message doesn´t make sense to me and I have never seen it before. Of course you DON`T have to install the content to your internal drive.

If the problem persists, please contact our support team.

    Best,

    Paul

  • aplanchard,

This may not help with the problem but to speed up install you should copy the contents of the DVDs to the external HD first, then do the install from there.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks Paul and DM33.  It appears that by copying all content to the destination drive and then starting the library installer from the internal drive, the samples properly install.  I do not recall having this issue the first time I instaklled the material.  I thought I was able to install directly from the DVDs...  Oh well, at least I will be up and running again by tomorow!

  • Also, I never use the installer from the DVD's. I always download the latest installer from the User Area and I always copy DVD's to a hard drive and install from there.  That shaves hours off the installs, especially if you have the Cube.
