Finale 2009 and VE
Hi, I have SE (standard and ext) & SE+. I'm usually a Logic user but am doing a big project in Finale 2009. I want to "hook up" Finale to VE2 and get going but I can't get things to work. Would any of you Finale users be so kind as to explain to me the setup and routing? In Finale: playback through AU, then in Studio View Choose AU Setup, etc?? What it the signal routing between Fianle and VE2. Thanks very much in advance!

Hi jammusique!
With the Human Playback Preferences file you can download from your user area also comes a readme file. Here you find information on how to set it up.
You find the text also copied here:
How to use this Finale 2009 file:
=======================This is an empty Finale file with Human Playback Settings for the Vienna Special Edition. It does not work with other collections. These settings will take care of Keyswitches automatically, when you change articulations.
1. Open or start a new Finale document. You don't have to open F2009+VSL-SE_HumanPlayback.MUS, because you can import the settings to your own documents.
2. PC: To activate Vienna Ensemble in Finale go to MIDI/Audio/Device Setup/Manage VST Plug-ins and add the Plug-in directory, where your Vienna Ensemble.dll is located. Then in MIDI/Audio/Instrument Setup/VST Instruments choose Vienna Enemble. The Vienna Ensemble window, where you can load your instruments, will open automatically. Also make sure that in the MIDI/Audio menu "Play Finale through VST" is activated.
Mac: In MIDI/Audio/Instrument Setup/Audio Units Instruments choose Vienna Enemble. The Vienna Ensemble window, where you can load your instruments, will open automatically. Also make sure that in the MIDI/Audio menu "Play Finale through Audio Units" is activated.
3. To import the settings in your Finale score, go to MIDI/Audio/Human Playback/Human Playback Preferences and click Import. Then choose the F2009+VSL-SE_HumanPlayback.MUS file.
4. Open the Vienna Ensemble window, make the same channel settings as in Finale and load the matrices of the instruments from your score.Best wishes,
Andi

Thanks for the answer Andi. Unfortunately, I don't find anything to download in my user area (you mean here on the VSL site, right?). Do you mean on the Finale site? All best

Hello Andelko!
I have seen in our records that you only have the Special Edition Percussion and the Chamber Strings library.
For the Chamber Strings there are no Human Playback Preferences yet. And the HPP for the Special Edition are currently only linked with the full Special Edition library. We will make them available for users who only have parts of the Special Edition soon.
I will send you a mail, with the HPP attached, so that you can start working instantly.
Best wishes,
Andi
