  • Glissandi in Finale

Ok, For a long time now(20 years at least) I have been trying to do smooth, slow glissandi using various notation software/sampler combinations to no avail. I am a big fan of Giancinto Scelsi, Ligeti, Penderecki etc... and would love to be able to have my software execute glissandi and also micro-tonal clusters for that matter. Does anyone have any tips on this subject? I have tried using the pitch bend, but unfortunately as far as I can see the VSL Ensemble interface only allows for a bend of 200 cents, a mere whole step. Anyway, any ideas/information on this topic would be greatly appreciated. -Peter

  • Hi Peter!

In some of our bigger collections (for example Solo Strings and Orchestral Strings I - Violin) glissandi are included. They are a bit hard to program from notation software, but work great if you trigger them with sequecer software.

    Best wishes,
    Andi
