All patches of the download instruments which are also included in Special Edition (and Special Edition PLUS), do have the same aomunt of samples and velocities.

So the download instruments do not have as many velocity layers as the corresponding standard edition instruments of the DVD products?
A lot of articulations do have same amount of velocities, because there is also no difference between Special Edition and the other DVD collections, these articulations do have same velocities:
Fortepiano, sforzato, pfp 3 and 6 sec.
Flutter tonguing normal and dynamics
Trills half and whole tone
Legato normal, with sustain crossfading, and fast
Performance repetitions legato, portato, staccato
Fast repetitions 160, 180, 200 BPM
With the greatest respect, I don't quite understand why what are essentially "crippleware" versions are going to be offered when I think it's pretty obvious by now that most users would rather have the full-featured versions of individual instruments and willingly pay the extra proportional cost. I guess what I'm saying is that rather than the piecemeal approach, what people probably want is EVERYTHING to be available as a downloadable option all at once! [:D]
I'm sorry if that sounds like a complaint. It isn't really. It's just a wish. However, I'm sure that you know what you're doing, and that eventually you will make these options available as your business model allows.
My thanks
Well, sounds a bit dramatic - but ok, on the server side it looks a bit different than on the client side 😊 - any word on the update reductions when going DVD? Is it the full price of the download Instrument or half of that? thanks - best@herb said:
I think especially download products should offer an economic download size.
Products with download sizes of hundreds of Gigabyte are too demanding for most users at the moment.
Maybe in the future.

I don't think this is the case with most users- I've already purchased several libraries that were available for download, one of which was more than 8 GB in size. This didn't pose any problem for me! I could understand if it caused a bandwidth problem on your end, however.

Herb, Hi...What about the "keyspans" of each sample...With the NEW singlr DownLoad instruments libraries, how do the keyspans differ from the DVD collections....Is it "1 sample for every 3 notes"? or 1 sample for every note? thanx, SvK
It's the same as in the Special Edition.
Wholetonesteps = or 1 sample for two notes.
By the way, peformance legati and repetitions are identical like in the larger DVD collections, because they also mapped in whole tone steps there.
