    I want to get the best sound out of VSL solo and chamber strings.  I love that up front, intimate chamber sound, but want to manipulate as much depth and width as possible and create those "super real" sound spaces where you could reach right out and touch the players, so to speak.

    I need

    - eq, comp, limit, max, exp etc

    - reverbs, including a good range of vocal plates, and impulse reverbs etc

    - a good range of mastering plug ins

    - a great sound card

    I want to keep as much off the computer as possible, but want a completely digital environment so options like Duende are a possibility

    I want everything to be compatible and easy to get going on (I work on a dual cpu pc, in cubase 4)

    Money's not a problem, but I don't want to spend the earth, if there's something just as good at half the price!
