I'm just trying to plan which machines my new VIs go on, and am having some trouble figuring out how much space they need. For instance, on the page for the percussion library, here, it says that there are 77GB of samples, but that they only take 51GB on the hard drive. But then when you click on system requirements, it suggests that you need a harddrive with 84GB available.
Can anyone explain which number I need to take notice of?
Hi Pingu. The VI Percussion collection is actually 77GB in size but compresses down to 51.3GB on your hard drive. So you need a minimum of 52GB of empty disk space to install it, though VSL say it's advisable always to have extra disk space in reserve. The 84GB figure quoted in system requirements is wrong (maybe it's an estimate made before the library was finished?).
