ViennaKey (replacement)

When I open Vienna Instruments stand alone or instnce inside of Logic I cannot access my sound Library. i.e. (empty preset) 1. I recently ordered & received from VSL a replacement syncrosoft key. 2. I Downloaded the newest version of Syncrosoft License control center the LCC see the key and displays the instruments I have registered. What am I not doing right??? Michael Colina

I believe I should give the big picture to my problem with my ViennaKey. I have been using my original key on 2 computers for the last 2 years. Everything worked beatifully!!!!! Suddenly, my key no longer was seen on the 2nd computer by LLC ( License Control Center) However, the same Key still worked on my 1st Computer. After posting my problem in the VLS community forum, I decided to order a replacement Key from VLS. I received the new key and on the 2nd computer ran the LLC. The LLC recognized the replacement Key. Now I launched Logic and instanced a ViennaInstrument However, It could not see my ViennaInstrument sound library and simply read empty preset on the right side and in the left window read: Vienna INstruments 1.06 Build Date May 18 2006 04:01 The following Licenses are installed Vienna Instruments I repeated this in the stand alone version of ViennaInstruments and go the same results! Michael Not quite sure I understand your problem fully.  But have you copied your old licences from the old key onto the replacement key - I guess you can do this on your 1st computer which should be able to see the old key and the new one ok.

Also you may need to rescan your sample directory with Directory Manager.

Tim Why would my computer #1 using the licenses Control center V 5.2.24.6 scan the Original key and see the licenses perfectly, But my computer #2 using the licenses Control center V 5.2.24.6 cannot see the same Original key (no E Licenser's Found)???????? I should explain to you that the New Key I received from VSL scanned perfectly on my Computer #2 (but the licenses that came installed on it by VSL are not the same ones that are on my original key. This seems very strange computer 1 sees original key------------- computer 2 does not see the original key!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????? the original key has worked perfectly for 2 years on both computers until a week ago. By the way, Computer 1 is in my NY studio Computer 2 is in my home in Florida I am in Pain Michael

Hi Michael,

I am pretty sure that you have sorted it out already, but just to answer this question.

Your licenses are always on 1 or the other key - you need to transfer these licenses from one key to the other in order to make them accessible.

We have even provided a little Video Tutorial for this - the procedure is quite simple. You can move the licenses from one key to the other on any computer that has an internet connection and the latest Syncrosoft LCC installed.

If you order a replacement key, all you get is the key - not the licenses once again, of course.

BTW: You did try all available USB ports on your computers, right? Sometimes a USB Port decides to cut communication, for various reasons.

Also, the Syncrosoft Support Crew is very helpful on issues like this.

You are mentioning VI 1.06..... please make sure that you are using the latest version (we have introduced 2.0 a while ago), 1.06 must be older than 1 year!!).
