  • Breath Controller

I have a Yamaha BC3 plus the Midisolutions Breath Controller Box. To program it one has to send sysex-messages like F0 00 00 50 ... F7 to midi out. On a windows PC one can do it with the application SendSX, which is not too difficult (but not a pleasure, at least for plug-and-play-generation-members like me).

But I didn't found a way to do it on a mac. With Logic? I didn't found a solution. Does anybody have an idea? I already know what is not really working: Sysex Librarian (also it somehow could work together with another application called hexfiend)

I already contacted the midisolutions support and the only thing they offer for mac users is a standard midi file, which is certainly not the best solution.

  • You can enter SysEx in Logic's Event editor window using the pencil tool.

  • I should add that the SysEx MIDI file *is* the best solution - as long as it has the right value for the curve or whatever it is you're adjusting. In fact I'd start with that and edit the value you need rather than starting from scratch.

All you have to do with MIDI files is import them and push Play. And if you do need something different from the files he gives you, you probably only need to change it once. There's really nothing to it - you just edit the number he tells you to edit. It doesn't require programming knowledge.
