  • Multiple Ensemble Plug-ins

     Hi,

I'm just getting to grips with the Ensemble plug-in and have what I guess is a CPU load question.

I really need, mainly for my sanity!, to have full Logic 8 based automation of my Vienna Instruments as this isn't currently implemented and I am proposing to try using multiple plug-in instances of Ensemble. for 2 reasons  a, to access a  further chunk of RAM (eagerly waiting 64 bit support!) and b, utilise the excellent power panning (by the way do I have to insert a bus in  Ensemble to access power panning as the window that feature power panning doesn't appear accessible unless you do?). edited - ah found it, you have to press the 2 squares button on the  patch loading page then close the window as this window comes to the front every time an instrument is selected.

Will each instance of Ensemble require much more, if any, CPU resource than the standard VI plug.

    Thanks for any answers.

    Julian

PS: a cool development, that has been mentioned elswhere on this forum, would be for the Ensemble to present to the host (in my case Logic 8) all it's automatable parameters so like Stylus RMX you could access all channels. I know this is already potentially possible using CC11 but the true automation route is much more elegant and, certainly in the case of Logic, presented in a much more user friendly way graphically.
