    after giving it a second chance, I gave up on VE. It just keeps crushing my Nuendo 4 on an 8-core Mac.
    Saving projects was taking considerably longer then with VI, and it crashes whenever VE is in focus and the N4's autosave kicks in.
    I took time to translate the session back to VIs, with exactly the same sample set and settings and now it feels lightweight and smooth again.
    I guess, I'll give VE3 a shot when it's out, but only as a standalone on a slave machine.

    N4.13, C4.13, OS X 10.4.9
    3GHz 8-core Mac Pro, 9GB RAM, 2.25TB HD, RME Fireface 800, M-Audio Keystation Pro 88, Eventide H8000FW w/ EVE/NET, VSL Symphonic Cube, NI Komplete 4, Altiverb 6
