Sibelius 5 with Vienna Ensemble on second computer?
Hello, Does anyone know how to configure Sibelius 5 to talk to Vienna Ensemble running on a second computer, NOT as plugin on the Sibelius computer? Is it even possible to use the Vienna sound set in Sibelius when you're running VE on a second machine? Thanks, Jason Staczek www.chromasound.net

Hello Jason!
For using the "VSL Ensemble Special Edition" (free download at http://www.sibelius.com/helpcenter/resources/soundsets.html) soundset for your Hardware MIDI-Out, you have to tweak it a little bit. Load the sound set either with the Sibelius Sound Set Editor or with a text editor and change the parameter PatchLoadMechanism from "Fixed" to "MIDI". Be sure to save the Sound Set under a new name.
Then in the Playback Devices of Sibelius 5.1 take your Hardware MIDI-Out as Active Device and select your new made sound set.
On your second machine you can run Vienna Ensemble in Standalone mode. Don't forget to activate your Hardware MIDI-Input on this machine. Also keep on watching our website for updates on Vienna Ensemble. Our Network version is in the making. You might be interested in that. ;-)
