I know this has been discussed but I just want to be clear on it, appreciate anyone chiming in.
If one is using Vienna Instruments, but not Vienna Ensemble, can Vienna Instruments access as much memory as you have?
I have 8 gigs in a new Mac Pro, but some are saying that Vienna will only access 4 of that. Is this true?
Thanks

Each process can access about 3.2 GB. So Vienna Instruments can access 3.2, and Vienna Ensemble can access an extra 3.2. Use them both in combination to get up to 6.4 from within a host sequencer. You could also run a VI standalone to access the rest, but there isn't really much point.... If you're dying for one more instrument, then it might be worth it, though! With the VE offered as a free download, it's hard to imagine why one wouldn't take advantage of the extra RAM access.
