  • how do you program articulation changes?

    hello everyone,

i am a big fan of the vsl-library.

my work flow is as follows: at first i play the notes and program the tempo changes.

but how do you program your articulation changes afterwards. i find it very time consuming to enter 2 key switches in the key roll editor.

    what approaches do you use?

    thank you for your answers,

    martin

  • Mostly I play my key switches at the same time as the notes. WhenI don't, I can either play them on a second pass, or draw them in very quickly, as they are the same for all my instruments.

  •  it depends on the situation, for me.......

when playing live, I definitely use keyswitches, but in sibelius and finale, I have a lexicon of CC changes set up to do the work for me (and keyswitches in notation programs/sequencers are awful!)

my new favorite trick is to use "velocity" as the A/B switch in sibelius, to trigger cresc./decresc. samples, and add an accent when I want the decrescendo sample :)
