    I have one instance of VE as a vst in Sibelius 5.1 with ten channels with brass. I can't get any sort of panning to work either in the sibelius mixer (which I knew wouldn't work) or using the panning in the VE or by using Altiverb as an FX insert in each channel and using Altiverbs stage positioning.

    How can I get panning to work with VE and SIB 5.1 and Altiverb 6.

    Well .. if you're on a mac .. I'd say use the IAC tool in the Midi/Audio setup app from the utilities folder to make some ports. And then using VE as standalone you should be able to run as many instruments as you need .. and Sib should (Big if on the should there) .. be able to connect to the VE using the IAC ports. (IAC means Inter Application Connection) so this should do the trick. Then you can use VE to pan and mix. Altiverb 6 will work on VE but be ware of the preset .. it crashes the VE .. or atleast it does on my machine. Save any presets to the actual Altiverb preset manager itself (Middle left corner).

    Any PC boffs using this combination can help me get panning to work?

    David, I really don't understand what the problem is. Set up each VI in VE with its own output, pan the output however you want, then route all these outputs though another bus with your Altiverb Insert, and then to the Master bus, and then this is routed back into Sibelius.

    Let me know where this doesn't work for you and I'll test it out when I open the studio tomorrow, assuming that I have any work....! I can always set up a preset for you and email it, if that helps.

    DG, Are you able to use Altiverb6 in VE on WinXP64? I can't get AV6 to show up in VE. David

    I don't have Altiverb 6 and in any case I don't use it within VE. Sorry. I may have time to try it out with Altiverb 5 tomorrow for you.
