  • How do I load my custom presets into a Vienna Ensemble instrument?

How do I load my custom presets into a Vienna Ensemble instrument?  With Vienna Instruments there is a drop down menu on the top bar with a "load preset" option.  With the Vienna Ensemble there is no longer that option.  So how do I load my old presets?

    Thanks,

    Jay

  • On the Preset Select page at the browser on the right site  you can navigate through your preset structure

(all presets have to be placed in folders assigned in directory manager)

A double click loads a selected preset.

  • Herb,

I saved a basic setup (controller mappings only, no patch assignments) for one track and I would like to share that setup with the next track.  However, after saving, the preset is available to the first track, but it does not appear to be available to the next track in the Preset Select page.  When I select the next instrument the preset from the first track disappears.  Is this correct?

Is there a way to share presets between instruments in the Vienna Ensemble?  This is something we could do with the pre-VE Vienna Instruments.

    Thank you,

    Steven

Unfortunately this is a bug. The Presets saved are available, but you can't see them until VE has been closed and reloaded.

  • i'm considering it not so much as a bug than rather a question of performance ...

given you save something new into a folder the file can only appear if the displaying application constantly scans the respective directory (or the directory itself *triggers* a rescan) - in case of VI/VE the list does not behave like a finder/explorer window and needs to be re-read.

we could ask the programmers if there would be a possible action (say collapsing - expanding the tree) to re-scan the custom folder

  • Christian, thanks for the workaround.  I see the preset now available to all instruments after restart.

  • you're welcome, but the thank-you goes to daryl herby ;-)
