OK - the 'RME' slave is still haing problems.
When I go to 'preferences' and assigned the known ADAT out - an error message comes up the says ..."Device already allocated"
Any ideas?

AH success!!!!!! I discovered that the ADAT output (that I used for Vstack) just gave me fits and then selected the ASIO 95/52 general out --- and VERY important --- let both settings in preferences to DEF!!!!!!!!
That combination and this is working. One down - three PC Slaves to go!!!!!!
---This is some nice software VSL!!!!!!

Hey Rob (and others), I finally have a bit of time to try to move over to VE… I’m having the exact same latency issue on my slave machine as you describe here. (MOTU buffer set to 128… VE showing 2560). Was there any resolution? Maybe some setting I’m missing? Vstack on the same machine (at the same time) is lightning fast.
Thanks!
Scott
Thanks for the quick reply Paul. I have the latest version of VE (2.0.2781) running in standalone. The latency on the lower left of the screen (2560) doesn’t match my MOTU buffer setting (128) – not sure if this is a problem or not, there was just some similar discussion earlier in this thread. My problem is that the response of VE is very sluggish (unusable), even with the smallest MOTU buffer setting. Vstack on this same machine is super quick. I was hoping I was missing some sort of latency setting within VE.
Thanks again.

Hi Scott,
the Vienna Ensemble should not cause any troubles used as a standalone instrument - that is the basic intention of this software.
Did you try to change the latency of your soundcard BEFORE launching just the Vienna Ensemble?
Best,
Paul
