    Does anyone know whhy VE would be doing a VE test on my Acronis (Back-up Software) upon its startup?  It has just now started doing this.

    Message on VE Startup: 

    "Test VST: C\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\tishell32.dll"

    Looks like it sees the *.DLL as plugin, for some reason.

    it seems you have for some reason set your VST plugin folder either to C:\ or C:\Program Files

     

    a possible solution would be (do this after a reboot before opening any VI):

    open C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VSL.ini with an editor (eg. notepad)

    change the VST folder to some not existing path (eg. VSTFolders=xyz)

    start the software and set a proper VST folder within the options
