    Hi,

    do you close the VE Server window when you are validating the AU (as documented in the manual)?

    This will work with the latest available version!

    Hi Paul, thanks for the quick reply! VE is updated and validated, still I get this message: Unable to create Server Object. The Server application might be already running, or the requested network port is not available What (the hell) can I do? Thanks in advance Oliver

    Dear oliverheuss & geosonic,

    please uninstall Vienna Ensemble manually as follows:

    1. Trash the Vienna Ensemble folder from Macintosh HD/Applications

    2. Trash the Vienna Ensemble plugin files from Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components and /VST

    3. Trash the VSL Custom Data folder from Macintosh HD/Users/Shared

    4. Trash the Preference files:
    -com.vsl.vsldirs1.plist
    -com.vsl.vslfrontend.plist
    -com.vsl.appPresets.plist (if this one is not there, please do not worry!)
    from Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences

    5. Trash the receipt files:

    @ geosonic: please follow the instructions in our VE user manual page 5 (AU Validation Mac) to solve your validation trouble

    Thanks Paul and Maya. Maya, I was able to get VE working without the uninstall. I did however run Onxy which may have helped. I had been closing the server as described in the manual to no avail (even allowing time for the initial plug load as described) I'm not sure what did the trick as I did quite a few things. I think I allowed the validation lots more time to process is probably the biggest differece. I allowed it to sit and think for about 15 minutes in total between the 1st licenses scan and final closing of the server. The biggest news though is how happy I am! VE seems like exactly what we've all been needing. Very slick! Thanks VSL guys! Cheers...

    Hi Maya, hi Paul, first of all thanksalot for support even after 17:00 on a Friday!!! (Wow) I did all uninstall process and new install: Unfortunately I still get this message: Unable to create Server Object. The Server application might be already running, or the requested network port is not available. What can I do now? Best Oliver

    Hi Oliver,

     

    After the uninstall routine, have you actually downloaded and installed the version of Vienna Ensemble currently available at http://vsl.co.at/en/68/375/377/239.htm or have you run your old installer?

     

    If you are unsure, please go through the uninstall routine once more and try again with the latest update of Vienna Ensemble 2.0, now labelled RC2, from 11-8-2007!

    Hi Marnix, i did download and install the latest update from your website. It didn´t help. BTW Validation is not a problem. Can it be something in the network settings that has been changed through installation? Cheers Oliver

    i just read *... or the network port is unavailable* .... have you by chance put the OS X firewall into stealth mode or running some beast like zone alarm or norton? then make sure port 6179 TCP and UDP is open for local calls.

    it has been just an idea ... if nor firewall is running no need to enable a port manually

    Hi guys, I updated OSX to 10.4.11 on my Quad. Since then VI are gone, no validation possible! VE is still there. How can I get back VI. Installers won´t let me install. Was it a mistake to update OSX 4.11??? Urgent-Best Oliver

    most probable it might turn up to be a permissions issue - run disk utility against your system volume and repair permissions, then reboot and validate manually.

    just solved a similar issue after upgrading from 10.4.8 to 10.4.10 ...

     

    generally you should make sure to reboot before and after and have nothing running during an update - be it the operating system or an application - also check permissions after every update.

    Hi cm, anybody who has the same problem: version 1.13 released shortly after your message solved the problem with OSX 10.4.11. Thanks for beeing quick! Oliver
