Hi Daniel,
If you ever decide to upgrade to Vienna Instruments Symphonic Cube you would get a discount of 2529 £.
So i think you investment is "safe", because your potential discount is higher than your initial investement.

First off let me express my sincere gratitude for your reply, information and advice. I will have a look at what the asking price is for the Vienna instruments symphonic cube and see whether or not I can afford it with the discount, see I’m a student at Coventry University, England, so don’t have access to a mad amount of cash but I really need this both for my dissertation and the film I'm doing. I still don’t understand what the main difference is between my pro edition cube and the Vienna instruments Cube? How much better is it, what can it do that mine cant etc? Please again let me state my gratitude for your reply. Daniel Shuttlewood
Sorry again would you be able to tell me how much i would then need to spend on the upgrade, as as far as i can see with this discount youve said i could save and the cube being a 2,600 i would only need to spend an extra 71£ for the upgrade? If so where do i sign? Also thats for the standard edition, if i was to want the "full" edition how much extra would i need to invest? It has two prices and i cant tell if the "your price" is with that extra 2529£ already taken off. Thanx again to who ever writes back. Dan
also still wondering if that is correct and i can get the new vienna instruments symphonic cube extended edition what that will do price wise, if your willing to share your wisdom couldnt thank you enough. DGS
OK here goes:
1) Everyone has to pay full price for the Standard Edition.
2) The discount applies to the Extended part only.
3) You can't buy the extended part without buying the Standard at full price.
4) I find the VI player much easier and quicker to use than the old version with the Performance Tool. I hardly ever used to use repetitions, but now I use them all the time. Velocity xFade is great, as is cell xFade. Also, because it is so easy to set-up matrices, it is really flexible to change things quickly. The new VE will be good when the bugs have been ironed out, and will help to make up for some of the deficiencies in Logic.
5) The new content is fantastic and worth every penny to me. However, I'm not a poor student and it is all a tax write-off anyway.[:D]
6) I would consider getting Appassionata Strings before the Cube, as you don't have any of these sounds at all.
7) If you buy the whole Cube, do a bit of arm twisting with Time and Space to get a couple of free dongles.
I hope that this helps.

DG your great, thankyou for your quick replys, So from what im hearing i need to spend another 3,608£ to get the full version of the "Vienna instruments Symphonic Cube"? This is the chart I'm looking at on the web site:
Standard | Extended | Full
Samples: | 199,730 | 593,223 | 792,953 |
DVDs: | 10 | - | 10 |
Full Price: *) | £ 2,600 | £ 3,537 | £ 6,137 |
Your Price: *) | £ 2,600 | £ 1,008 | £ 3,608 |
as far as Ii can see you've actually found the best and cheapest way of getting what you want.
If you buy the New VI cube cold it costs you £6,137
You have bought Pro Edition Cube for £2,000. it costs you £3,608.00 to upgrade to the full VI Cube net cost £5,608. Over £500 cheaper than buying the VI Cube cold. And on top of that you have got the pro edition samples which you can play and manipulate with a sampler to your hearts content, should you ever want to. Sounds Like a top result to me - and similar to what I did except I think you got pro ed cube cheaper than i did and I am upgrading to the full VI cube gradually.
Way to go!
But gee how can you possibly afford this if you're a student? - you don't have to answer that - we understand[8-|]

I just simply load up the samples, hence my frustration when it comes to getting them to sound realisic (avoid the machine-gun affect).
Very Good advice paulR, I think I will start with the App Strings, then work my way through the string family as that tends to be the one I’m fussiest about. My brass and woodwind stuff isn’t too bad, so thanks for that, that one question though “if I bought it all one by one would I end up spending more when I eventually got the whole package bought”? Please write back when you can. DGS
Just hoping you guys might save me some time, seeings as theres alot to choose from...........;). Am i then assuming i total up the prices for the full version, your price for each one? i.e.
Standard | Extended | Full
Samples: | 29,004 | 76,942 | 105,946 |
DVDs: | 4 | - | 4 |
Full Price: *) | £ 230 | £ 297 | £ 527 |
Your Price: *) | £ 230 | £ 127 | £ 357 |
full price is what new users will have to spend, your price reflects the discounts on extended libraries for already registered products which relate to the respective collection.
the example shows the pricing for Vienna Instruments solo strings with your discount for an already registered complete orchestral package pro edition
standard libraries of a collection (including the media for all) are not discounted at all - although if you purchase the symphonic cube the price is ~ 5% lower compared to purchasing the 10 included collections seperately..

edit: almost every collection consists of a standard and an extended library
