    Hei I could not get the midi learn funtion in perform edit to work when trying out ensemble today. "ctrl" clicking the velXF fader did not activate it. is this a confirmed bug, or a local problem to me ? My host is Cubase 4 on an intel MacPro regards svein

    When you just load Vienna Instrument, not Ensemble, does it work?

    Hang on a minute; is Ctrl Click really the Mac equivalent of Right Click?

    Hei DG, Yes inside the old host it works just fine, and yes ctrl+click is the equivalent of right click on a PC. Only thing that works for midi learn inside ensemble is to click on the activate velXfade button, that is the only parameter available for M learn. regards svein

    OK. I've just checked in XP64 and all the MIDI learns work. Sorry not to be able to help you.

    Hi Svein,

    just tried, works fine with the latest OS X build [:)], don´t know what might be causing the trouble.

    You can also assign controllers manually in the "Map Control" window you find in the "Perform" Page.

    Hei Paul, Still not working here, tried standalone and in VST host mode. Only thing that gets activated when ctrl clicking is the Activate Vel button (turns red) nothing else

    If it turns red, it is in learn mode status. Moving any controler now and it should be linked to this controller (the red disappears).

    When the red don't disappear than no midi datas are going into this VI.

    So maybe you are operating on a different midichannel in your sequenzer (that sometimes also happened to me)

    It can be checked easely, because performing any notes on your keyboard wouldn't reach this VI instance either.

    If it turns red, it is in "learn" mode. Moving now any controller would link this controller. (the red will go off immediately)

    If it stays red, no midi datas have entered into this VI. Maybe you have selected a wrong track in your sequenzer routed to a different VI.

    You can check this easely, performing any notes on the keyboard, and this would also have no effect on this VI.

    Hei Herb, Yes I know its in learn mode when turning red. Problem is: The only thing I can get to turn red is the Velocity xFade button, not the fader or any faders in this window. Its connectet correctly, and I can play the sounds, shift between cells (modulation wheel) and the problem is not to map it to a controller, it happens earlier, when trying to activate midi learn mode. as I said earlier, old host works with no difficulty whatsoever, check screen dumps.     Writing in the controller manually in the map controll page works fine, and the controller responds just as before. Maybe the activate learn mode is a hotspot problem in the programming ? regards svein

    Hi Svein,

    just checked on my MacBookPro: You are right, Ctrl-Click doesn´t work to arm sliders in the "Perform" Window. I always either use a mouse with a right-click or activate "Tap trackpad using 2 fingers for secondary click" in the System Preferences/Keyboard&Mouse/Trackpad. That´s the reason why it took me so long to find out.

    It´s on our bugfix list, maybe one of my suggestions will work for you!

    Good morning Paul, Then It was not just me, thats good news :) I will use manual assignment for the perform sliders until this mapping issue is fixed. Also, since the mac dont use a 2 button mouse as default, it might be a good idea for the developers and support staff to use a standard setup when trouble shooting mac issues. Its frustrating trying to explain a problem/bug when nobody else can reproduce it... Apart from that, thank you for a really fast response time here in the forums.     Hei VSL, I installed the latest RC. Still no go on the Midi learn fuctions, seems to be exactly as the previous version. Tested on Cubase 4.1 and Nuendo 4 on a Mac Pro Quad 3Ghz/6GB ram with OSX 10.4.10. Regards svein

    Hei Paul, Im the only one?, that is strange, maybe not to many Use midilearn on Steinberg/OSX .. ?! We'll, I will check your updates and make sure you get a 100% release candidate. And thanks again for the quick replies. regards svein
