joseph, let me define the format as *splitted interweaved* - this means the whole thing (each collection) is designed monolithic for several reasons: load time, avoid redundant samples, meta information, preload cache, ect. but it is also splitted because of the size to save the filesystem's strenght and give you the freedom to spread data across several locations (harddrives).
therefore it is not possible to delete data without loosing information for he whole object. one of the advantages with this design is, that you will be able to use the extended content actually of single instruments and do not inevitably need to extend a whole collection.
a timelimited demo mode will be available for the extended content within a collection to let you check out if it fits your needs before you might add a permanent license.
