  • I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but...

What PC setup, short of using multiple computers, is most ideal for VSL and gigastudio? Recommended Ram? Number of hardrives? Processors? Intel? AMD?

  • B.C., this depends really on your *musical* needs. in a nutshell - some intel motherboard with a 800 MHz frontside bus, 2 GB RAM, winXP, at least a dedicated harddrive for samples (as fast as you can get). processor power is not an issue, although you might hardly get less than 2.8 GHz currently and this could change when convolution reverbs are on the table (i'm sure they will need a lot of power)

  • Now that gigastudio 3 is around the corner, isn't there less need for a second computer?
What is the problem of using 2 hard drives instead of 2 computers?

I'm talking about making the songs Hans Zimmer-ish. HUGE orchestrations.

what are you guys at vienna using?
Are you going to change your way of working when gigastudio 3 arrives?

OT: The responsible people behind this web page have done a darn good job! The designs are incredible artistic and beautiful as well as the covers on your libraries!

audun, so far i have not heard or read a statement saying the 1GB barrier is broken - the *news* that there will still be a 2GB limit on 32bit windows is an absolute no-brainer, so what?
thanks for your kind words on the design, i'll forward them to georg from MVD who did a great job on that
