  • SATA PCI Cotroller

I am in the process of buying a SATA PCI controller. I have bought a SATA 320 GB WD 3200 drive.

Some people told me that buying an external SATA controller wont make a difference - But the source is not good. Now, my comp does not have a SATA port(s).

What do you suggest? Should go for a SATA PCI controller or just go for an ATA drive?

I already have a 160GB ATA drive. But I am expanding for the samples I am going to get.

Is it better to have two ATA's or I can go for a SATA.

A quick reply would be much appreciated so that I can send my SATA drive back ASAP if required.

    Thanks..
    Regards,
    Tanuj.

  • Make sure the controller you get also supports the NCQ/TCQ thing for a good investment...

Actually with hardware questions it's common among the users to put PC questions into the Giga/Halion/Kontakt sections and Mac questions into EXS section. Kinda substitute for it as it usually is also relating to the named samplers somehow and the in-the-know look through these.
