  • BASS , ACOUSTIC DRUM AND VSL?

    to vsl

have you ever though of a library of drum and electric bass?
this because I think that this instruments has become fondamental for modern music and because if you have done overdrive you can also do electric bass and so drum cause you have done percussion...

    tell me what you think...

    and another think..

for you an instruments like piano needs a performance tool to do legato hands and repetition, this is possible? or cause the tecnich and sound of piano don't need it.

    thank to all

  • I think it's more an economic question - look how many good drum and piano libraries are already out there... the market is not that big and real drummers not totally unavailible [;)]

As to piano legato - I regard the legato effect of a piano a minor one that doesn't contribute a lot more realism than what can be achieved with actual pianos... repetetion may be an advantage, but with today's 16 layer and more libraries and only a small repertoire where it's really needed... sympthetic harmonics may be more relevant than these issues like they adressed in the new Ivory Grand module.

  • well you say that polar, but I have yet to find a good drumset library that sounds "modern." Everything I've heard still sounds like sets used back in the 80s. I can't find any good drum or guitar libraries that would include samples from the popular music of the last 15 years, namely grunge, alternative rock, hard rock, power-punk etc. If theres one out there please point me in the dirrection so I can bow down at their feet lol. • fxpansion BFD, DfH (1, 2, Superior), SID, Larry Seyers, lastlibs, Stormdrum, Artist Drums, and maybe even more like Stylus plus Refills, not one having an useful set for you? The gaps there may not be too popular...

yeah I think I'm just to picky, being a drummer myself heh. It's mostly toms and cymbals that drive me insane, I can hear so much more in a real cymbal than I can in any recording, and toms are tuned like they were way back when. I don't know what DfH is, I need to demo those 2.

  • DfH is the Drumkit from Hell, demos at www.toontrack.com
