I know this is a bit off topic, but what you said surprised and intrigues me - there are stock libraries out there that will actually pay you an up front fee for your pieces?

Anyhow, it almost goes without saying that VSL is incredible, and almost guarantees that people will notice your music.
I am patiently saving for the upcoming Symphonic Cube... which isn't going very well for me, since I don't even have enough for Opus I yet... ahh... [8-)]

The only stock library company I know that does pay upfront is Network Music/BMG. The rest usually pay quarterly or depending on how much your piece is used.
