  • Hey Evan; Have you trashed Logic for good? (wouldn't blame you if you did!)

What about your Kontakt experiment? How can you face going back to a bunch of PC's?

  • Sorry to but in. Logic's been GREAT! FOR ME! Nearly 10 years now.

It's just that if you ask ANY computer to do like 97 zillion things it's just too much! And GS3 is putting out great peformance for us - something like 450 ~ 500 voices EASY!

Plus there's that nasty screen realestate issue with too many plugs, sequencer, virtual instruments, audio files, etc all at once on the same computer.

  • LOL!

    Bruce,

Listen to this guy above! It's like someone swearing by their sliderule. These people are hilarious, especially the evangelical ones.

    WHATEVER!

    Evan Evans

  • Huh? Logic a slide rule? I'm not in most forums these days so I'm not sure how Logic users became this way.

You claiming Cubase is head & shoulders above, or um...what exactly ARE you talking about?!

We use Pro Tools software as well, and a huge rack of G5's and used everything virtually but some of that CONTINUES to get in the f@#$in' way!

We went from GS to Kompakt and are sick of problems. We're going back to where we were more proficient and had fewer problems.

    What am I missing?

  • Don't worry about it mate. Alot of what's out is in contention, not just Logic. The perfect "mac" seq app is long gone.

I could go on and on, but no program that is out right now is completely brilliant. I would give Pro Tools a perfect score, but their reliance on their hardware is beyond disgusting.

  • i don't know about you guys but 6.4 is way more stable than 7. if i was not running so much VSL in EXS I'd probably be giving DP another shot.

Another totally true thing! Went back to 6.4 for a little while. Producers have been melting the LCD screens with dirty looks while waiting! DP didn't help us at all (just our honest opinion)

6.4 is working like a horse with Digide$ign cards - but there's just too much going on in that Mac - I FEEL SORRY FOR TORTURING IT!! So some things are going to go where they belong: VSL on 2 or 3 GS3 machines.

I couldn't agree with you more Craig! I still run 6.4 and am loath to upgrade to Logic 7 while all this crap with bugs is going on. Less problems, for what that's worth, seem to occur when it's a clean install. My colleague upgraded instantly, and unfortunately is not a happy chappy at this time.

I think Apple might have a bite taken out of them with stuff like DP if they don't hurry up and sort these bugs out.

Course, it's down to the sampler, as you say.

  • About a month ago I have asked the same question(EXS to GIga)And the answer I have got was %50 of the original price!which is 2500Euro.
    I hope this will change.

Ok here's a question: I bought the Complete Orchestral Package before the price increase, so is it 15% of what *I* paid or 15% of what it costs now?

  • Sabine:

Have your distributors such as Ilio in the USA been advised of the new prices?

    David McCallister

  • Hi David,
yes, our distributors have been infomed.
    Sabine

  • Hi Sabine,

I've recently purchased Horizon: Chamber Strings, Saxophones I and Opus 1. Today, my VSL Pro Performance Set arrived. I've purchased everything through Ilio and was never informed of any discounts and/or 'side licenses'. How do i remedy this situation? Thanks.

  • Hi drg,
a side license is an additional license to use the samples with a second format - is this what you consider?
There's no "group discount" for the products you purchased (Opus1, Saxophones I, Chamber Strings, Performance Set).
    All the best,
    Sabine

  • Hi Sabine,

I misunderstood 'side license' - thanks for clearing that up. With my purchase of the 'Performance Set - Pro Edition', I take it the VIP discount structure is now activated. Am I correct in assuming this?

Many thanks to your company and especially Herb - a wonderful job - stunning product!
